Well done!!! Geniana deserves more than 5 stars. This is my third tanning session. The best thing about Bronze Me Brazilian tanning solution is that you don't get your nails stained, and no solutions or treatment creams are necessary to cover your nails. In other places that I have gone, I got an allergic reaction on my cuticles because of the products they used on my nails. Another thing I want to point out, is that Geniana is very polite, and patient. She is very detailed when she sprays you. She checks her work twice to see if everything is perfect. BEFORE TANNING TIPS

  • For the optimal sunless tanning experience, shower and exfoliate your skin prior to your session and focus on the driest areas such as elbows, knees, hands, feet and the back of your ankles.
  • Manicures/pedicures should always be done prior to your session.
  • Avoid lotions, perfumes, make up or deodorants the day of your appointment as they can create a barrier for absorption.
  • Wear dark, loose-fitting clothes and open toed sandals following your appointment.
  • Avoid activities that make you sweat heavily at least 8 hours.

AFTER TANNING TIPS

  • Avoid chlorinate Jacuzzis and swimming pool, steam rooms and saunas.
  • Moisturize your skin with paraben-free lotion at least twice a day to prolong the life of your tan.
  • Avoid using pore strips, bandages and exfoliants.
  • Avoid body washes that contain harsh soaps, exfoliants or oils. These ingredients can also shorten the life of your tan.
  • Expect your hands and face fade faster due to frequent washing.

How does airbrush tanning work?

The active ingredient used in all self-tanning is dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which is derived from raw sugar cane and reacts with the proteins in the outermost layer of your skin to produce a golden-brown color. This ingredient does not produce a “real tan” by increasing the skin’s melanin levels, rather it creates a tanned appearance by developing a brown color on the surface of the skin.  The action of DHA is limited to the upper layer of the skin and involves a reaction between DHA and skin proteins and oxygen that produces brown compounds. Airbrush tanning gives you a beautiful natural-looking “California tan” without the long-term skin damage associated with UV exposure.

How long does the airbrushing session take?

The entire process takes about 20 minutes.

How long does the tan last?

The longevity of a sunless tan depends on how you care for your skin. A professionally applied sunless tan received at a salon or spa, will last 7-10 days.  The reason is that the solutions used by professionals contain higher percentages of DHA than what is found in self-tanners. Following a good skin care regimen before and after sunless tanning will help a sunless tan last longer.

What do I wear for my airbrush tanning session?

If you are a woman, you may wear your own lingerie or bikini or opt for no tan lines at all. Men are required to wear underwear or a swimsuit.

Why is keeping skin moisturized essential to maintain great sunless results?

It is important to keep skin moisturized after sunless tanning as dry, flaky skin slough off faster and color will fade sooner. You goal is to basically slow down your body’s natural exfoliation process. Sunless tan-extending products with a light self-tanning bronzer help hydrate skin and maintain natural-looking color longer by providing subtle bronzers.
